The director of the Missouri Historical Society, Bob Archibald and others talk about the area and the winter spent training at Camp DuBois in present-day Illinois and the military order established there. You will also discover several historical sites along the Missouri River.

    Modern-day "river rats" describe navigating the Missouri 200 years ago and the considerable hard work of going up stream 1600 miles to the Mandan villages in present day North Dakota. Jim Grey, chairman of the Osage Tribe tells you about the lands and lifeways of the Osage people while you listen to authentic native music of the 1800's. Lewis and Clark scholar Gary Moulton reveals many interesting facts about the trek and Bud Clark, descendent of Captain William Clark, tells some family stories. This was a military expeditionary force and General Hal Sterns explains why it was successful. Much of the information contained in the exclusive interviews is not available anywhere else.
